Digital Sketchbook: Me vs. Calder vs. O’Keefe in Procreate

A painting of some figures with abstract lines and stuff.

I splurged on some new Procreate brushes after Christmas. Among the sets I picked up, were some inspired by Alexander Calder and Georgia O’Keeffe.

I am fans of both artists, but I never put them together in my head. To me, they seem pretty distinct from each other. But, their colour palettes (which come with brushes) turn out to be really copasetic. I‘ve been working with the Calder brushes more because I like the simple shapes, lines and flat colours that typify his paintings.

As usual with all things Procreate, I feel that I am probably not using them to their full potential, but I’m fine with that. If life allows, I prefer to toss the instructions and learn by doing.

If you’re into Procreate and collecting brush sets, I got the Calder and O’Keeffe brushes from Creative Market.
